The Director, Clinical Value Analysis will be responsible to direct and lead the MemorialCare system wide Value Analysis Program, Value Added Teams (VATs), Support Staff and related processes. The position provides oversight of Clinical Value Analysis, sourcing and standardization initiatives across the system (acute and alternate sites) and all clinical specialties including: Surgery, Nursing, Critical Care, Respiratory, Radiology, Cardiology, Obstetrics, NICU, Wound Care and Behavioral Health pertaining to commodity products, medical devices, high cost clinical / physician preference items and capital equipment.

This position will develop, lead and enforce standardized processes for new product review, identification and prioritization of cost savings while promoting and utilizing Value Analysis (Cost, Quality, Patient Outcomes, Staff Satisfactions, Revenue and other criteria as appropriate) in the decision-making process. He / She will build and maintain a supportive relationship with leaders, medical, supply chain and clinical staff to ensure consensus and a collaborative decision-making process. This position will be accountable for aligning supply and service spend with system-wide local or Group Purchasing Organization contracts. This position shall utilize contract leverage to secure favorable terms and costs. This position will be responsible to oversee implementation of approved initiatives, coordinate staff education, monitor project completion dates and metrics to achieve sustainable improvements.

The position requires the employee to hold an active clinical license (RN, RPH, MD).

Qualifications: 
  • Required Minimum of seven years� experience in clinical value analysis, strategic sourcing, analytics and project management.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of hospital business operations and related medical supplies and services, service-line leadership experience in OR, Cardiology or Pharmacy preferred.
  • Possess good of the principles, practices, equipment and terminology associated with materials management, product standardization and value analysis in a healthcare setting.
  • Possess good knowledge of GPOs, RFPs and Purchasing Contracts.
  • Working knowledge of clinical practices, patient safety initiatives and clinical procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate detailed presentations, product trials and implementations.
  • Must possess strong leadership, facilitation and organizational skills.
  • Must have experience facilitating large diverse groups from multiple disciplines to reach consensus and make decisions.
  • Must have a proven track record of strong project management skills, leading, facilitating and organizing large meetings with high visibility implications.
  • Strong communicator in all forms of media.
  • Must have strong experience using Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel skills.

Education & Licensure

  • Required College Degree ( BA/BS ) from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience as RN, PA, CAN or LPN/LVN.
  • Masters / M.B.A degree preferred.
  • Licensed Clinician (RN Preferred), California Licensure
  • Respective certifications in Materials Management, Lean Management
