Position Summary:

The position of Director of Surgical Services is responsible to plan, manage and evaluate patient care services within the Division of Nursing, ensuring that all resources are cost effectively directed to provide quality patient care.In addition, this position is responsible to provide leadership to the management and clinical teams that provide Perioperative and Short Stay services across the continuum.

The Director of Surgical Services is a Master's prepared Registered Nurse who is responsible to support the vision and goals of the Division of nursing.  In addition, the Director is responsible for the management of daily operations, management of human resources, physician relations, business and practice development, quality improvement, strategic planning and fiscal oversight for the continuum of care in Surgical Services and the short stay unit across multiple departments.  A multidisciplinary and patient/family centered approach is utilized to integrate the functional operations within the services.



  • Registered Nurse licensed in California
  • Master�s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or other healthcare related field.
  • Clinical background in acute care operating room or similar setting - minimum of 5 years.
  • Minimum of 3 years hospital management experience in Tertiary Care setting.
  • Experience in employment management practices.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including Title 22, Title 24 and Joint Commission.
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles.
  • Knowledge of quality and performance improvement activities (LEAN principles preferred).
  • Knowledge of word processing application programs and spread sheets.
