Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist II evaluates and assists individual patients in developing, recovering, and maintaining daily living and work skills. He/she works with patients who have mental, physical, developmental, or emotional disabilities, and aims to maximize independence and recovery for every patient. The Occupational Therapist II performs intake assessments and implements a individualized treatment plans to effectuate patient goals. He/she actively participates in departmental development and assumes some supervisory duties within the department.

This position provides occupational therapy services to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in order to facilitate the highest level of independence and recovery from or adaptation to various deficits or disabilities through evaluation and assessment, functional activities, therapeutic exercise, procedures, education and training. The Occupational Therapist II will assist patients and families to resume or assume new life roles.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ years prior work experience in occupational therapy is required.

  • California Occupational Therapist License required.

  • Prior relevant work experience and aptitude in education and program development is required.

  • Prior supervisory experience in a clinical healthcare setting is highly recommended.

  • Memberships in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the Occupational Therapy Association of California (OTAC) are recommended.

  • Must be panel-approved by California Children's Services (CCS), or working to gain approval at time of hire.

  • National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is recommended.

  • AHA BLS CPR Certification required.
