MemorialCare Miller Children�s and Women�s Hospital, Long Beach, Cal is home to over 6,000 births each year.It serves the greater Long Beach area with a large level III NICU, and a 36 bed small baby program.

The Children�s Heart Institute at Miller Children�s provides total heart care for infants, children and young adults with congenital or acquired heart disease.Miller Children�s also has a cancer and pulmonary institute, as well as providing critical and general care to our patients.

We are seeking a full-time Registered Cardiac Sonographer to join our growing team!Key responsibilities of this position include:

-Performs congenital and pediatric cardiac echocardiograms on patients in a variety of settings � inpatient, outpatient, and some satellite clinics

-May assist imaging cardiologist in the OR or catheterization labs during TEE�s and other procedures

-Performs measurements and analysis, and communicates these to reading cardiologists

-Communicates with care teams to ensure the best outcomes

-Functions as part of a team who share common goals, and support one another

-Shares on-call responsibilities



-High school diploma or equivalent

-Graduate of a recognized program for echocardiography

-Current registry as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer- Pediatrics (RDCS-Ped)

-Current BLS required

Qualifications/Work Experience

-3+ years of experience as a pediatric cardiac sonographer in an acute care facility

-Ability to learn and apply complex pediatric and congenital sonography principles, instrumentation and techniques for capture, display and analysis of echocardiographic data.

-Knowledge of pediatric cardiac anatomy and physiology

-Problem solving, time management, and organizational skills required

-Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills required
