Purpose Statement / Position Summary

MemorialCare's IS trainers are responsible for developing the knowledge and skills of our workforce. They ensure that our workforce can meet its current and future business objectives and deliver quality services that meet our customers� needs. They develop and facilitate training strategies and plan initiatives working with clinical, patient access, financial system, or Analytics/Business Intelligence groups.

IS Trainers assists MemorialCare�s training strategy and plan initiatives by working to increase end-user�s efficient utilization of core systems such as the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) or the analytics portfolio to enhance their workflows and documentation across the enterprise. They may provide end user training on numerous applications supported by the IS training department. The IS Trainer also works closely with their assigned business team(s), delivering current and planning future training solutions.

IS Trainers have a wide range of duties in training instruction, training administration, and training documentation development. They help revise existing material to reflect the needs of the audience and application enhancements or system upgrades. They collaborate with more advanced Trainers to build training scenarios to support end user training and to develop system workflows to integrate system functionality with operational procedures. IS Trainers work with internal/external vendors to provide supplemental and on-going training programs to end users as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Conduct training programs for end users

  • Assist in the personalization of systems

  • Maintain expertise and competence in the assigned software applications

  • Offer feedback towards the development of instructor-led training and web-based curriculum

  • Maintain appropriate instructor manuals, training materials, and job aids

  • Be at work and be on time

  • Follow company policies, procedures and directives

  • Interact in a positive and constructive manner

  • Prioritize and multitask



  • Minimum of 1 year relevant software experience or Analytics/Business Intelligence experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in instructional design and development of web-based and e-learning preferred


  • Associated degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specific/limited EMR applications or analytics software with �Certification� and/or �Proficiency� status pending as is appropriate to specific vendors such as Epic
  • Proven experience in instructional education, training, and/or customer service preferred
  • Past success working independently as well as in a team situation while meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Products required
