Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Imaging Services, the Imaging Services Manager leads and manages the operational activities for assigned modalities, locations and support areas. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position’s major responsibilities are managing all day-to-day operations including the delivery of care, human resource management, equipment oversight, and performance improvement activities. The Manager is a positive and effective member of the Imaging team, fostering a customer/patient focused perspective and ensuring a strong commitment to organizational service standards.
The Imaging Services Manager participates as an important member of the department’s team to address and resolve broad management, patient scheduling, patient and staff safety, workflows, operational monitoring, regulatory compliance, public relations and the overall timeliness and quality of services provided to customers in assigned sections and across the department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
- Provides leadership and expertise in assuring staff scheduling coincides with volumes and schedules within the department.
- Provides support to Department LEADS assisting in staffing issues, and employee and patient satisfaction scores.
- Works with LEADS to assure equipment is maintained, PM’s completed and works with Director to assure replacement planning is in place.
- Implement change in a positive, sensitive and forward-thinking manner.
- Effective managerial, administrative and leadership abilities as applied to the management of daily operations.
- Work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, interacting positively and productively with staff, physicians and other hospital personnel.
- Work independently and to use initiative and independent judgement.
- Effective communication skills both in written and verbal presentation in a manner that is open and that fosters trust, credibility and understanding.
- Proficient working knowledge (or ability to learn quickly) of computer software such as EMR, PACS, purchasing, and Radiology Reporting software.
- Effective analytical ability and organizational skills with attention to detail and prioritization.
- Follow company policies, procedures and directives.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience
- 3 years health care Imaging operations, supervisory experience or 5 years of progressive relevant Imaging experience with demonstrated leadership skills – required
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology/Medical Imaging school – required
- Certification by appropriate Radiology/Medical Imaging body through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) - required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association – required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Health Care Administration or another relevant field - preferred
