Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital in sunny Long Beach California is actively seeking a Clinical Educator for our Pediatric Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU)! The Clinical Educator is a nurse whose is responsible for providing patient population specific orientation and education to nursing staff. The position places strong emphasis on bridging educational needs with clinical performance in patient care areas. This position develops a comprehensive plan for meeting the educational needs of the staff in their unit and carries out that plan to support high quality and excellence in patient care.
Ideal candidates for the Pediatric CTICU Clinical Educator will have excellent communication skills and can facilitate strong relationships across all levels of nursing and physician management. The Pediatric CTICU Clinical Educator is a self-motivated role model and is constantly looking for staff development opportunities. To ensure quality patient care, the Pediatric Clinical Educator will oversee quality improvement, safety, and regulatory requirements, and evaluate all education and training programs. This includes collaborating with nursing and physician management to develop comprehensive plans for meeting the educational needs of the staff in the unit and carry out those plans to support high quality and excellence in patient care.
The Pediatric CTICU Clinical Educator will thrive in a state-of-the-art Pediatric CTICU and will assist in overseeing growth of the staff, unit, and development of the pediatric ECMO program. Pay Range: $57.32-$71.94
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN required
- MSN in education preferred
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) upon hire
- Minimum 3 year related clinical experience of pediatric cardiac care in an acute care setting
