TheClinicalPharmacyResidentpositionisprimarilydesignedforarecentpharmacyschoolgraduatewhowishestospendapost-graduateyeargainingfurthertraininginacutecarehospitalpractice.Inadditiontogaining focused acute care experience to enable them to independently staffinallareasofthedepartment,theClinicalPharmacyResidentwillreceivetraininginmanagement, complete several projects including a research project, and participate in the pharmacystudent teaching program. This residency program adheres to the residency standards set for by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP). This residency position is offered only to residents who have matched with this program by the National Matching Service (NMS). As set forth in the ASHP residency standards, residents must be licensed as pharmacists in the state of California for two-thirds of the residency year. Residents not licensed by 120 days from the start of the residency program will be evaluated for program continuation, as outlined in the Residency Contract that was provided to the resident when they matched with the program.

Graduate of school of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.

Licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of California during the first 120 days of their residency year.

Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.

Outstanding organizational and communication skills.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize a diverse workload.

Proficient understanding of common computer programs used in pharmacy practice and ability to type at least 30 words per minute preferred.
