Position Summary: The Professionalism Program Coordinator, under general supervision of Medical Staff Services Director, performs a broad range of functions to support the Professionalism Program. The Coordinator will be key to oversee the transition of the Professionalism Program at LBMC/MCWH to a fully integrated program within our campus. This will include establishment of a repository for the data, tracking mechanism, and administrative duties to complete the initial screening, investigation, and tracking of professionalism referrals for primary review and disposition and accountability to Medical Staff Leadership assuring compliance with the Professionalism Standards in place.
Essential Job Outcomes and Responsibilities:
- Designs and implements the mechanisms needed to assure an organized structure for the professionalism process. Reviews risk reporting system alerts, Medical staff, or professionalism referrals daily. Follows confidentiality procedures, guidelines, policies. Generates redacted version of professionalism referral for secondary screening by appropriate MPC Chair.
- Utilizes internal risk reporting system to conduct primary screening of professionalism referrals for accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness of information. Enters medical staff associated professionalism referrals into electronic risk reporting system.
- Provides 1:1 orientation to medical staff members on how to submit the professionalism referrals into electronic risk reporting system.
- Prepares and distributes redacted reports to assigned messengers, tracks delivery, and records all feedback.
- Coordinates the escalation process outlined in the Professionalism Manual to initiate leadership meetings and reviews for egregious reports. Attends weekly meetings with medical staff director/manager and professionalism chairs to complete secondary screening of referrals.
- Monitors reporters for any excessive reporting and reviews with MPC Chairs. Tracks exclusions and assists with follow-up actions per department chairs/leadership. Coordinates with director, coordinator, or manager. Escalates undelivered professionalism reports to MPC Chair for reassignment per policy. Tracks, by provider, patient grievance/complaint distributed by patient relations and escalates to MPC chair when threshold met. Documents all distribution of full reports requested by medical staff/AHP staff members.
- Coordinates the monthly Medical Professionalism Committee (MPC) meetings and prepares/uploads meeting content in Board Effect. Tracks necessary follow-up. Provides 1:1 orientation to medical staff. Assists with development of training and assures timely training of all MPC members and messengers as defined in the Professionalism standards.
- Maintains responsibility for the accuracy of data and provides on-going statistics for analysis by medical staff leadership.
- Performs a broad range of functions to support the Professionalism Program. Oversees the transition of the Professionalism Program to a fully integrated program.

- Tracks delivery of reports and prepares invoices for quarterly payments. Collaborates with medical staff leaders, MSO director, and manager on projects involving medical staff professionalism.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Position Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' customer service experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
- EMR Experience – EPIC required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, HIM, or Utilization Review experience preferred.
Education:
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration, or data analytics preferred.
