Purpose Statement / Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to support the budget and financial planning activities of MemorialCare Health System.The position is expected to use data to meet the needs of management by gathering, preparing reports and performing basic analysis.Reporting includes both routine and ad hoc reporting and will require the incumbent to leverage critical thinking skills to successfully deliver a comprehensive product.

The ideal candidate will be eager to develop skills in financial planning, can work under strict deadlines and can easily adapt to shifting priorities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1.In collaboration with other team members and under supervision, supports the budgeting, forecasting and long-range strategic planning process

2.Produce and/or assist in the production of actionable reports for use in the budgeting process and analyzing financial data

3.Maintain intermediate to advanced competencies with decision support and visualization tools, such as Strata, Lumira, Tableau, PeopleSoft and WebI

4.Serve as a subject matter expert to Operation departments. Provide consultation on financial analysis, productivity tracking, monthly variances to aid Leaders in managing their department budgets.

5.Produce and maintain reports to assist in internal management and outside agencies in analyzing financial and operational data.

6.Perform basic to intermediate level analysis in a variety of subject areas

7.Complete all monthly financial reporting accurately and on time

8.Collaborating with stakeholders across the health system in data collection efforts

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Experience

  1. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  2. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite specifically (Excel/Access/PowerPoint).
  3. Must be able to create and manage Excel spreadsheets.
  4. Must be well-organized and able to work independently, have good interpersonal relationships and strong communication skills.
  5. Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to convey information in a clear, focused, and concise manner
  6. Must have strong numeric and analytical skills within a professional environment.
  7. Able to maintain adaptability in a change-oriented environment.
  8. Health care experience preferred.

 

Education

 Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Accounting, or other mathematically rigorous discipline required.
