Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center. Under the direction of the Supervisor of Patient Services and Volunteers, and independent judgment, the Coordinator of Patient Services and Volunteers oversees the day-to-day operations of the volunteers, gift shop and Simply Better patient/family experience in compliance with all Human Resources and regulatory requirements.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job 

1.    Coordinate onboarding of volunteers in compliance with all Human Resources requirements.  
2.    Coordinate volunteer placement throughout hospital, Patient Care Pavilion, and Gift Shop.
3.    Maintain Simply Better Trust kits and tracking of usage
4.    Maintain Gift Shop volunteer schedule and merchandise placement  
5.    Keep supervisor informed on volunteer and gift shop progress; escalate concerns as needed.
6.    Participate in Simply Better Experience and Simply Better Trust initiatives to improve patient experience.
7.    Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Experience

• Minimum of three years’ experience in customer service, volunteer preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly resolve issues and concerns.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Education

•  Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
