Position Summary

MemorialCare’s Director of Community Connect is responsible for the overall strategy of our Epic EHR system offering to affiliate practices that contract for this system and support services with MemorialCare. The director understands the technology and business landscape in regards to the affiliate practices and aligns systems and services to attract and retain these key customers/relationships. This director provides staff support and guidance as they manage the implementation and on-going services offered to these practices.The director collaborates with other IS leaders, leaders throughout shared services as well as campus and foundation leadership to established and provide for consistent and standardized deployments and services offerings for the purpose of maximizing operational efficiencies and value.Staying current with business trends, researching new and future services and capabilities and collaborating with key business leaders to ensure they and their teams understand what is available and what is coming that will be needed and/or will impact the Community Connect offering.And to map these key customer needs and expectations to the best opportunities available in the way of IS centric implementation, training and support services.

Responsible for ensuring all Community Connect projects and MCMG ambulatory practice initiatives are managed to established milestones, within budget and have outstanding outcomes, partnering with IS project management and his/her leadership to overcome any roadblocks to meet the needs of the business.This will include the effective and efficient management of 3rd party consultants as well as 3rd party provided services where applicable.The Director of Community Connect will also be a key member of clinical centric VAT’s such as MASC and Pilot 2.0, ensuring monthly meetings are provided for, giving updates of key initiatives, areas of concern, and general awareness and direction of the Community Connect program.As well as participating in IS Governance, PAC and other IS and business leadership forums to provide program updates, advocate for new customers and relay information requested by senior leadership.

Functions as a senior IS leader and a key point of contact for all levels of user management and staff.Collaborates with other IS leaders throughout MemorialCare to provide a unified, high quality, service-oriented department. Aligns enterprise-wide information technology vision(s) and resources with overall MHS business strategies, integrating operational and organization processes, applications and technologies.Will be highly engaged with the affiliates providing them with understandings of MemorialCare’s Community Connect roadmaps, awareness of future updates and ensuing adoption and training plans are implemented for seamless transition to new versions and features of the Community Connect system and services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Participates as a key member of the Senior IS management team in governance processes of the MemorialCare Community Connect program offering.
  • Collaborates with appropriate MHS resources, facilities, physician leadership, best practice teams and VAT’s to develop and maintain the Community Connect offering to align with affiliates’ and MemorialCare’s organizational needs.
  • Will ensure the Community Connect systems and services are implemented, maintained and advanced in a manner to provide for a high degree of Affiliate customer satisfaction.Which will be measured through customer feedback and regular surveys.
  • Will partner closely with IS ESS support, IS Service Desk, the IS leader of the Super User program as well as Nordic managed services to ensure Community Connect customers as having support expectation SLA’s met.
  • Will work closely with MemorialCare MCMG leadership, business development, strategic leadership and IS leadership to provide for IS project management support for site adds, moves and changes.
  • Will work closely with MemorialCare business development leadership, the Chief Strategy Officer, Physician Informatics members and the leader of Physician engagement to ensure a consistent approach to Community Connect offerings is aligning to MemorialCare’s approved business practices.
  • Conducts ongoing research to maintain current knowledge of Healthcare IT industry trends, as well as emerging technologies in anticipation of new software solutions or business processes that should be considered for the Community Connect program.
  • Supports the VP of IS Services to deliver the technology vision and ongoing project/systems implementation via regular written and in-person communications.
  • Document, communicate, and enforce policies for standardizing systems, infrastructure and software as necessary.
  • Supervises, educates and trains staff related to business, information systems, systems analysis and project management through on-the-job instruction and formal training programs.
  • Responsible for the overall development, implementation and oversight of application management policies and procedures to ensure integrity and availability.
  • Manage staff and develop career path goals for each member, perform regular scheduled evaluations and provide guidance in development of those goals.
  • Undertakes ad-hoc assignments as required to react quickly and positively to new or emergent situations.
  • Assists in the development and execution of enterprise-wide IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Complies with all IS Policies, Procedures and Standards including: Project Management tools/methodologies, Network/Systems/Workstation Security, HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations associated with Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI)

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • 10 years work experience, specifically in a Healthcare delivery setting
  • A seasoned leader in the space of healthcare applications and services.
  • 5 years or more experience in providing a hosted EHR service preferred.
  • 5 or more years of IS management and leadership experience.
  • Deep experience in the project management of application adoption, application upgrades and application implementations.
  • Past success driving organizational change to establish a world class IS organization.
  • Deep experience and proven ability to create a clear, strategic vision for information systems that supports business objectives and can execute on that vision
  • Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
  • Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices.
  • Developed skills in establishing and implementing long and short-range strategic plans, multi-year budgeting and re-forecasting, organizing operations, and general fiscal management
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards.
  • Strong vendor and contract management as well as budget management capabilities and experience.
  • Proven project planning and leadership experience.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor degree in the field of computer science/engineering, information systems, healthcare administration or related field.
  • Master Degree in related field or MBA preferred.
