Position Summary
The Procurement Director directs all procurement and item master activities to support MemorialCare Health System (MHS) operations and assure system-wide best value is achieved and maintained.Promotes a business environment that maximizes the use of technology toward leading practices, greatest efficiency, productivity, and high quality databases.Provides leadership and direction for procurement of all capital equipment, supplies, and services while ensuring item master integrity and supporting KPI and reporting activities for MHS Acute & Non-Acute.Monitors procurement activities ensuring system policy and contract compliance, and system financial integrity.Continually assesses and drives a culture daily performance improvement, and break-through enterprise-level innovation for procurement, logistics and analysis functions.Responsible for training and staff development to ensure business process adherence and identification of leading practice.Acts as liaison with the Supply Organization to support a holistic approach for Procure to Pay Solutions.Consistently observes and fosters mandatory confidentiality relating to sensitive business or patient-related material/information.Serves as a member of the system Supply Chain Operations leadership team responsible to create and implement supply chain objectives in support of the MHS strategic plan.Collaborates MHS operational leaders to understand and effectively meet changing customer needs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Purchasing & Supply Chain Analyst team in a professional and efficient manner ensuring compliance with all MHS policies, procedures and MHS contracts, and contracting strategy.
Accountable to ensure the Buyer team performs with demonstrated skill capability and capacity to meet MHS procurement demand needs within target accuracy and efficiency tolerances.
Accountable for aligning work of Buyers & SC Analysts to overall Supply Chain Strategy
Exhibits advanced expertise with MMIS application procurement workflow, GPO and local contracting, MHS policy and contracting strategy, and other procurement and materials-related functions.
Maintains strong controls related to data quality and integrity and embed this in all delivered products.
Translate data into clear, concise and actionable objectives.
Buyer & SC Analyst team member learning, coaching, recruitment and retention needs are actively supported.
Key performance and behavior indicators are effectively monitored and adjusted to meet target outcomes.
Purchasing workflow integrity consistently monitored; demonstrated active and efficient effective root-cause analysis and problem solving is facilitated with the team.
Effective resolution of cross-functional problems and issues.
Demonstrated timely resolution to internal and external customer concerns.
Demonstrated competency to perform the buying functions for any/all department supply and service procurement needs.
In collaboration with Executive Director, staffing and/or expense budget is created, monitored and supported throughout the fiscal year.
Evaluates and authors Purchasing business process, effectiveness and accuracy ensuring consistent adherence by responsible parties.
Manages supply disruptions to ensure available product.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
Ten years of relevant knowledge and experience with healthcare purchasing, materials, finance, MMIS and contracting; includes experience managing one or more teams
Extensive experience and proficiency with ERP and/or MMIS
Expert level proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing and other office applications
Experience with Analytics and Business Intelligence
Demonstrated superior communication skills, including internal/external business-level correspondence, effectively using all types of media
Demonstrated portfolio of experience with logical thinking, problem-solving skills and project management
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business law, math or statistics required. Related and/or Lean certification preferred
