Position Summary
This position functions independently to oversee all biomedical contract administration at Memorial care Health system.The position is responsible for the existing medical management program (TMS/Accruent) within the memorial care licensed patient care facilities, and reports directly to the Executive Director, Facilities Operations Development, at Orange Coast Medical Center, and the Executive Director of Facilities at Saddleback Medical Center.The Vice President of Patient Care Services at Long Beach Medical Center/Miller Children’s has oversight of the position.The position will also have a direct reporting structure to the Memorial care contracting/legal department as it applies to specific functions and budget operational targets.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
- Manages and oversee specific biomedical contracts within Memorial care Medical Center (e.g., includes but is not limited to, Imaging equipment, Sterile Processing equipment and other equipment used in the Operating Room and Central Service Department) as contracted for maintenance and repairs.
- Consults and assists in the management of medical device technology with other leadership colleagues in all acute care medical centers under current operational requirements and future medical center expansion programs.
- Works with leadership throughout the acute care hospitals in 10-year capital planning relating to biomedical equipment, contracts and services.
- Ensures contracts and activities relating to medical equipment remain in regulatory and accreditation compliance.
- Problem-solves (analyzing and implementing effective solutions to issues that may arise).
- May provide reports to Risk Management and regulatory agencies (to include adverse equipment events, manufacturer and FDA equipment alerts, and other mandated reporting events).
- Budgets (monitor, planning, and assisting in creating budgets relating to contract administration).
- Oversees the proper levels of equipment and supplies delivered throughout the medical centers to insure that contract requirements are met.
- Ensures contracts are managed for all non-hospital owned medical equipment, rented, leased or contracted to the medical centers.
- Advises and participates in the selection of medical equipment used and requested by the medical centers to ensure contract requirements are met.
- Participates in outside courses and/or seminars, and maintains professional periodicals and journals.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
- Strong biomedical and imaging background within the health-care specific environment
- Minimum of 5-7 years of both biomedical/imaging and contract management experience within a hospital setting
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Word; Excel competent
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Master’s Degree Preferred in Health Field or Related Field
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Health Field or Related Field, or in progress
- High school diploma or equivalent required
