Pay Range*: $169,416- $254,113.60

The Manager, Clinical Pharmacy provides oversight and coordination of the clinical pharmacy program at MemorialCare. In conjunction with system and campus pharmacy leadership, they will identify and coordinate the implementation of clinical pharmacy initiatives that support both short-term and long-term strategic goals.Responsibilities will include development, growth, enhancement, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy services across MemorialCare that contributes to quality patient care.This individual will serve as a key member of the MemorialCare Drug Formulary Committee, managing creation of high quality formulary reviews, ensuring clinical cost savings, responsibility for long-term success of the systemwide formulary process.

The incumbent will also serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and Best Practice Teams (BPTs), ensuring that pharmacy provides measurable and clear value to the BPT process. Additional responsibilities include identification, development and management of clinical cost savings initiatives, collaborate with other clinicians, stakeholders, and committees to successfully develop and implement policies, procedures, practice standards, and therapeutic guidelines.

  1. Clinical Program Development/Implementation:
    • Responsible for overseeing the development and enhancement of the clinical pharmacy program across the enterprise.
    • Provides day-to-day management of clinical pharmacy program while collaborating with system pharmacy leadership to develop strategic direction of MemorialCare’s clinical pharmacy program
    • Accountable for development, growth, and execution of standardized clinical pharmacy initiatives across the enterprise.
  2. Quality Improvement:
    • Provide leadership for the monitoring and evaluation of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure high quality medication use and clinical pharmacy care
    • Working with system pharmacy leadership, provide input on drug shortage mitigation strategies and development of clinical alternatives for key “never-out” medications
    • Directs daily activities that drive forward clinical cost savings initiatives across the enterprise and achieve annual performance targets
  3. Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Responsible for managing the day-to-day functioning of the MemorialCare Drug Formulary Committee process, including ensuring completion of high-quality clinical content for each meeting and supporting the committee chair(s)
    • Supervises pharmacy department participation in MemorialCare Best Practice Teams (BPTs), and along with campus and system pharmacy leadership, accountable for selection of pharmacists and that the pharmacy department provides measurable value to achieve BPT goals and objectives.
    • Serve as liaison between pharmacy department and other clinical services across the enterprise.
    • Communicate effectively both within the pharmacy department and outside the department and at all levels of the organization.
  1. Education and Training:
    • Serve as a clinical pharmacy expert to develop and coordinate educational programs for pharmacy staff, healthcare providers, and patients
    • Lead professional development activities and develop clinical competency content for clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
    • Responsible for mentoring clinical pharmacy staff across the enterprise
    • Others duties as assigned

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

·         Minimum of 4 years of clinical pharmacy experience (required), with at least 2 years in a pharmacy leadership role (preferred)

·         Demonstrated knowledge of clinical pharmacy practice standards (preferred)

·         Strong communication and collaboration skills with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

 

Education/Licensure/Certification:

·         Active Registered Pharmacist license in state of CA (required)

·         Successful completion of an accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program (strongly preferred) or PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency (preferred)

·         Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g. Pharmacotherapy, Critical Care, Cardiology, Infectious Disease) (preferred)
