Position Summary
The Provider Onboarding Specialist is the primary liaison and point of contact for newly employed or contracted internal providers. The Provider Onboarding Specialists handles all aspects of State and Federal program enrollment including Medicare and Medi-Cal for internal providers and the group. The Provider Onboarding Specialist is responsible for timely outreach to the provider in order to obtain the documents necessary for the provider to become credentialed and affiliated with all health plans. It is the responsibility of the Provider Onboarding Specialist to make sure the provider has completed all aspects of the onboarding process before their start date. This position is responsible for all initial hospital privileging when applicable for new providers and includes working with the Hospitalist Medical Director to provide ongoing status updates.

- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization including providers and recruitment staff.
- Ability to work and manage multiple projects and prioritize based on importance and urgency

- Candidate must have a valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years healthcare experience working in a managed care setting is required.
- Epic or equivalent Managed Care electronic medical record system and provider portal applications knowledge preferred.
- Experience with various healthcare industry regulatory agencies and requirements including but not limited to CMS, NCQA, DMHC, ICE, DHCS, preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook is required. Experience with Microsoft Access is also preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
