Position Summary

The Senior Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for providing support for Medicare Advantage membership growth and retention for the system (hospitals and medical foundation), and coordinating all programs and activities targeting the senior and commercial populations served by MemorialCare Long Beach (LBMC) and Orange Coast Medical Centers (OCMC).

The Senior Outreach Specialist accomplishes this by:

Supporting leadership in executing retention and growth strategies for MA, particularly during the Medicare Annual Enrollment and Special Enrollment periods.

Coordinating educational programs for the senior population for both the North and Central regions.

Representing MemorialCare or coordinating volunteer attendance at community events (e.g. Chamber events, Senior events, etc.), working nights and weekend as needed. Taking photos for social media promotion when possible.

Promoting MemorialCare as the preferred health system of choice.

Supporting other growth initiatives as assigned.

This position requires a highly organized person with excellent communication and customer service skills, attention to detail, time management and consistent follow-through. The employee will also be expected to support all organization expectations including but not limited to:Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, and Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and MemorialCare initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  1. Coordinates special events and educational programs for the senior community.
  2. Initiates and maintains relationships between LBMC and OCMC and senior community centers and/ or other related organizations in the assigned area(s) with guidance and support from leadership.
  3. Responds timely to requests from key stakeholders.
  4. Ability to be at work and be on time.
  5. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.
  6. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
  7. Ability to prioritize and multitask.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years managed or risk-based healthcare experience preferred.
  • Ability to organize projects and enlist needed support for completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Medigap insurance preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
