Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The Hemodynamic/Anesthesia Technician III is responsible for providing anesthesia assistance in a safe, appropriate and effective manner under the direction of a Registered Nurse/MD, in compliance with the standards of practice. Provides advanced care in advanced specialties including Thoracic, Cardiovascular procedures, airway management, blood management, point of care, and hemodynamics. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to provision of availability/maintenance of equipment, adherence to aseptic technique, advanced knowledge of anesthesia procedures and support to patient flow within department. Provides support and communicates directly with surgical team and supervisory staff. The Anesthesia Technician III must use effective oral communication and participate in aspects of documentation. In addition, this position collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

8. Demonstrates tact, sensitivity and discretion.

9. Demonstrates the ability to integrate knowledge of job specific competencies.

10. Demonstrates continual development of clinical expertise and current knowledge of healthcare trends and education related to performance.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Five (5) or more years’ experience as hemodynamic tech or Respiratory Therapist required

• Completion of Hemodynamic program or Respiratory program required

• Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred

• Proficient in medical terminology

Education/Licensure/Certification:

·         Registered Respiratory Therapist Licensure required or Certified Anesthesia Technologist designated by the American Society of Anesthesia (ASATT) required

·         Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card required

·         Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card required
