Position Summary

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining high quality, patient focused inpatient pharmacy services in alignment with the organization’s strategic planning priorities.This individual will provide coordination, supervision, development, implementation and operation of the LBMC inpatient pharmacy services.In addition to operational oversight, this position is responsible for clinical development activities including Carelines, Best Practice Teams, purchasing, medication safety and regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

·Ensure optimum service and highest levels of quality to patients in LBMC

·Oversee operation of the inpatient pharmacy services, including coordination of distributive activities and clinical practice, and performance improvement and regulatory compliance for medication management, and system improvements for medication safety

·Supervise employees and manage pharmacy staff

·Assists the director in development of budgets and directs operations to comply with budgetary guidelines

·Advisor for pharmacy services in EPIC computerization process.

·Coordination of investigational medication use and oversight for pharmacy investigational drug services.


*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Experience

·         2-5 years of supervisory inpatient operational pharmacy experience, with practical knowledge and understanding of operational workflows, data analysis, and business development. 

·      Demonstrated application of California Pharmacy law, California Department of Health Services Title XXII, CMS & DEA regulations and Joint Commission standards to business operations and patient care services.

·      Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment and produce positive outcomes. 

·      Prepared to communicate verbally and through written expression with executive leadership, management, and front-line staff.  Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills. 

·      Demonstrated service-orientation, with sensitivity to patient needs and who views his/her department as vitally supportive to internal and external customers.

 


Education

·         A Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred and licensed as a pharmacist in the State of California are required.  Graduate of a hospital or pharmacy management residency is preferred.
