Purpose Statement / Position Summary

The Project Coordinator, Business Development/Operations provides consulting and overall project management services from start to finish, supporting SMC Senior Executive functions and strategies. The position applies knowledge of business and applications to research topics, investigates problems or questions, and provides necessary information and resolution. The Project Coordinator manages some or all phases of one or more projects for Senior Executives. They function as a key point of contact and are accountable for achieving satisfactory and positive outcomes. The Project Coordinator prepares analytical reports and makes recommendations to management. They interface with finance, accounting, decision support, and other key departments to solve problems and manage projects

  • Identifies opportunities for operational efficiencies and collaborates with others for implementation.
  • Uses Lean principles in work processes. Serve as resource for administrative staff working to ensure a highly competent, professional and effective organization.
  • Prioritizes, tracks and manages, and organizes projects efficiently to accomplish goals set by the department and the organization.
  • Communicates effectively in both written and verbal forms to ensure all needs are addressed.
  • Maintains customer service skills to ensure clear communications between departments and external contacts.

Essential Job Outcomes

  • Coordinates and manages large and small projects to achieve objectives, timetables, budget and overall success. Organizes complex processes into clear tasks with delegation of responsibilities. Sees projects through to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Independently identifies and resolves complex problems and issues with minimal guidance. Prepares accurate and timely reports, statistics and other documentation as necessary or requested
  • Acts as a key point of contact for management in assigned business areas related to SMC Administration. Interfaces with other key individuals to investigate problems/issues, gather pertinent information and solve problems directly or recommend courses of action for resolution.
  • Serves as a resource and support personnel for related business processes and use of software applications. Develops and maintains a general awareness of the healthcare industry, current and emerging technologies and software applications.
  • Organizes and facilitates business meetings efficiently, ensuring consensus building and clear task delegation. Maintains commitments and provides clear follow-up. Demonstrates flexibility, adjusting priorities and tasks as necessary.
  • Supports business development and operations as necessary.
  • Provides administrative support to the Vice President of Business Development
  • Provides administrative support to Department leads as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: 
Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of advanced clerical and/or secretarial experience required
  • Computer, internet, and word processing experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook

Education

  • Bachelor�s degree preferred
