This position requires an understanding and participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with MHS core values. The employee will support Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center’s Strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan.

Under minimum supervision, assists in coordination of quality improvement activities. Performs data abstraction and data entry both concurrently and retrospectively as needed for a wide range of quality initiatives and projects. Acts as liaison between departments and physicians for performance improvement activities. Prepares for and attends meetings and educational activities as needed consistently presenting self in a professional manner.

1. Demonstrates service excellence for internal and external customers

2. Maintains confidentiality of information following HIPAA consistently

3. Abstracts and enters data for Peer Review and other quality initiatives as needed

4. Creates data displays using available reporting tools including Excel

5. Assists with performance improvement activities

6. Participate in department events

7. Attends department or job related meetings, presentations and educational events as needed

8. Ability to be at work and be on time

9. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives

10. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner

11. Ability to prioritize and multitask

Qualifications: 

Experience

3-5 years of experience in a medical environment. Must have demonstrated skills in reading and understanding medical terminology. Must have intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office, as well as keyboarding. Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Education

Current California RN Licensure and/or certification in a healthcare field required

 Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher preferred

 Specialty Certification preferred
