The Senior Wellness Coordinator for our employee wellness program, The Good Life, is responsible for assisting the director of organizational health and well-being and leads wellness programming at Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children�s and Women�s Hospital to enhance employee population health in alignment with organizational strategic objectives such as employee engagement, recruitment, and retention.The senior wellness coordinator is responsible for promotion, implementation, and administering campus specific programming that spans all aspects of The Good Life Wellness program.This includes incentives, wellness challenges and campaigns, health fairs and screenings, managing fitness facilities and offerings in addition to campus specific developed programming/events such as Farmers� Markets, nutrition programs, clinical initiatives, etc. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for work that involves complex level of duties at multiple campuses with large number of clinical staff with varying schedules.
  • Serves as lead coordinator on campus with multiple Good Life staff.
  • Frequent collaboration with key campus stakeholders, leadership, and partnership councils at each campus to develop programming specific to campus needs and campus culture.
  • Integration with strategic initiatives in HR, Organizational Development, Spiritual Care, etc.
  • Responsible for monthly data analysis and participates in annual team data analysis, outcomes, and program effectiveness review to identify opportunities to improve employee health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with Good Life executive leadership and Good Life team to develop program goals, strategic objectives, and next year programming based on annual review.
  • Leads all system-wide activities and initiatives of The Good Life at Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children�s and Women�s Hospital and is responsible for active, ongoing communication to engage employee participation.
  • Must be self-directed, comfortable in leadership role, excel at time management, and have the ability to navigate complex cultural variances.
  • Provide individual employee assistance to become aware of and further develop wellness goals through individualized action plan that incorporates behavior change best practices.
  • Manage fitness instructors, contractors, and or interns.


  • Must have at least three years related experience in corporate wellness, preferably in a healthcare setting.

  • Expertise in the principles and practices of health promotion, employee wellness programming, and behavior change.

  • Knowledgeable about wellness and disease management programs and metrics.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exhibits strong project management skills, specifically the ability to manage time effectively to support multiple assignments, shift priorities in accordance with need and work both independently and within teams.


  • Bachelor�s Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Nutrition, or related field required, MS in a health-related field preferred.
  • CPR/AED certification required
  • Fitness certification from nationally recognized organization such as ACSM, NASM, NSCA or ACE preferred.
