Purpose Statement / Position Summary

The Program Specialist works within the Business Integration department, to advance overall health system growth and development of strategic initiatives. The Specialist works independently to provide internal and external consulting and coordination of initiatives with leadership, partners, and project team members. Responsible for driving key strategic initiatives related to business growth, integration engagement, and operational optimization activities.  The Specialist is expected to independently manage overall initiative implementation, timelines, key milestones, and resources.  Will be responsible for regular project status and post-implementation project reporting. The Specialist will define requirements, gather data, and analyze information for high-level research and reporting to be used for leadership’s business strategy analysis as well as for executive level communications. Works with departments to define key processes and coordinates with team to implement an application for departments to better manage processes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Manage the successful delivery of business integration efforts, leveraging program management fundamentals including planning, tracking and achieving integration engagement milestones as well as risk mitigation
  • Utilize independent thinking and decision-making in working directly with executive sponsors and team members to define the scope and objectives and planning of key strategic initiatives
  • Manage all phases of strategic initiatives to ensure achievement of objectives, timelines, key milestones and deliverables, and overall success
  • Facilitate business integration program management, including status reporting and coordination across multiple concurrent activities 
  • Create and maintain workstream program management and transactional tools and related documents in document repositories, project management applications, and other software applications; provide access and training on assigned applications to workstream team members and other stakeholders
  • Engage with internal and external parties to collect diligence, , operational processes, specifications and other information to support business evaluation and integration efforts
  • Schedule, plan, lead, and facilitate project meetings
  • Complete initiatives utilizing research and other resources as it relates to due diligence inquiries
  • Independently run new and existing reports, analyze key data and share findings with the department, executive leaderships, project teams, and other stakeholders
  • Work with departments to define key processes and workflows, and coordinate with team to design and implement process improvement solutions.
  • Coordinate, develop and assist with refining business integration systems, tools, and processes
  • Coordinate engagements with leadership, internal and external stakeholders to support business integration activities
  • Coordinate defined areas and assist with post acquisition transaction assessments
  • Prepare supporting materials for engagements

Essential Job Outcomes

  • Ensure completeness and timeliness of the collection of information, materials, processes, and specifications to support evaluation, diligence, and integration efforts

Pay Range: $97,884.80-$141,918.40

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Experience

A minimum of 3 years’ experience with coordinating and leading the implementation of key strategic initiatives in healthcare or business transactional environment including Mergers and Acquisitions, preferred. Must have demonstrated mastery of Microsoft products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word as well as program management tools.  Must have excellent organizational skills and a proven background in working on multiple initiatives and with executive leadership teams. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior management, vendors, physician practices, and other outside entities.  

Additionally, must meet the following competencies:

  • Ability to evaluate systems, processes, and workflows to develop plans for change, improvement, and/or integration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to identify gaps and implement solutions
  • Good analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to recognize problems, issues and trends, obtain and analyze information, raise issues to the appropriate management, apply logical reasoning, recommend solutions and implement when appropriate
  • Understanding of key business applications and related information technologies
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Education

Bachelor's degree required in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline. Healthcare transaction, implementation, PMI, PMP Certification or a high level of demonstrated program management experience preferred
