Position Summary

The PR & Communications Intern provides support as needed with copy editing, collaborating and brainstorming with the Marketing team on campaign ideas and strategy, creating power point presentations, managing public relations and advertising clippings, being involved with coordinating and implementing special events internally and externally, and clerical duties as needed.  Some job duties include: writing collateral copy, staffing internal and external events, handling media inquiries/visits, social media postings/updates, E-newsletter story creation, in-house photography, calendar listings, media pitches, re-branding collateral, editing and reviewing parent education materials for LBM & MCWHLB, intranet announcement posting and maintenance, lobby slide development and maintenance, serving as “in-house reporters” when we get requests from departments on new programs/patient success stories.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs; desktop publishing skills a must.
  • Excellent writing and copy editing skills.
  • Ability to interact with hospital management, staff and outside suppliers as required.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • PR and/or marketing background and very strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Working towards and/or have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
