Position Summary

Works under the specific direction and supervision of the Director and Manager of Medical Staff Services.Assists the Director and Manager in providing a resource to the chairperson(s) in facilitating the medical staff functions/meetings. Is knowledgeable in all job tasks performed within the medical staff office.Is knowledgeable and understands the Bylaws, Rules, Regulations and Policies of the Medical Staff. Is responsible for the credentialing process for Allied Health Professionals. Is responsible for overseeing and processing student observer requests. Is responsible for Temporary privilege requests. Responsibilities may include OPPE/FPPE and UOR follow-up process of all medical staff members. It is expected that the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center (SMC)’s core values.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1.Meeting management—includes taking and transcribing accurate minutes, agenda preparation, meeting facilitation, and follow-up;

2.Working knowledge of all aspects of Medical Staff Services;

3.Working knowledge of regulatory standards as applicable;

4.Able to audit credentials files to ensure compliance with hospital policies, governance documents, and regulatory standards;

5.Strong written and verbal communication skills;

6.Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and credentialing software.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

·       Minimum of three years of progressive experience as a medical staff coordinator

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom

Education/Licensure/Certification:

·       High school diploma

·       College graduate preferred

·       CPCSM and/or CPCS certification preferred
