Position Summary
The CT Technologist is technically competent to perform all routine CT, X-ray exams; and 3D reconstructions as applicable within the scope of the CT Imaging Services Department. Performs technical duties utilizing CT equipment and supplies to obtain satisfactory imaging for CT exams and CT guided procedures performed on patients of all ages whether performed with contrast or not. Performs clerical duties specific to all areas of the Imaging Services Department. Standby and on-call duties are job expectations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
- Utilizes all electronic systems effectively, efficiently, and appropriately.
- Assists with clerical duties.
- Demonstrates the required technical knowledge to perform quality imaging for all CT exams and CT guided procedures while providing quality patient care and safety.
- Performs quality imaging appropriate to patients of all ages and conditions.
- Assures appropriate patient identification is performed and indication and history for exam is documented.
- Ensures patient and family education is accomplished as appropriate and according to department policies.
- Arrives to assigned workstation on time and prepared to work.
- Follows corporate, hospital, department, state and federal regulations, policies, procedures, and directives
- Interacts in a positive and constructive manner with everyone
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize and multitask
- Demonstrates knowledge regarding the safe use of contrast
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
- 10 or more years’ experience in performing routine CT, ED, Trauma and CT knowledge of CT guided biopsy procedures in an acute care hospital required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CT cross sectional anatomy and scanning protocols with 3D image reconstruction experience.
- Ability and knowledge to mentor and share experience/expertise with less experienced CT staff.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- CRT, Diagnostic and Fluoroscopy Required
- ARRT/CT Certification Required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card Required
- IV Certification Required
