Pay Range*: $31.55/hr - $45.74/hr

Position Summary

Responsible to support education staff in planning, developing, coordinating and monitoring various aspects of the medical education program at Long Beach Medical Center to ensure all aspects are in compliance with accreditation guidelines and the learners have a positive educational experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Assist Director with oversight of accredited medical education programs according to department needs.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation as well as interface with hospital, corporate and affiliate staff according to department needs.
  • Provide administrative support for department programs and directors according to department needs.
  • Oversee medical education office functions during Director’s absence to ensure uninterrupted workflow and support staff in the daily operation of office.
  • Working knowledge of accreditation guidelines specific to duties (ACGME, CPME, LCME, ACCME, ABFM, AAFP, PHARMA, etc.) to support LBMMC medical education programs.
  • Prioritize and meet the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines of the medical education program(s)
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as take direction from the Director of CHE/GME, the DIO and Program Directors from LBM/UCI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in healthcare environment or medical education program preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Access. Medical education software program knowledge preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Associate's Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience in medical education, business or meeting planning.
