Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources and the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Representative provides assistance and guidance to hospital employees, former employees and prospective employees. The Human Resources Representative must possess a strong understanding of departmental procedures and HR policies to ensure workplace compliance and support employee well-being. Primary responsibilities for this position include managing the life cycle of the 90-day process, processing internal and external transfers, licensure, Human Resources department support via phones and visitors, and other duties as assigned. As well as this position will serve as the primary lead for survey readiness. This position must maintain a level of confidentiality at all times.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  1. Ability to provide excellent customer service by using Simply Better traits.

  2. Follows through on directives, seeks input when needed and meets deadlines.

  3. Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills.

  4. Always maintains a high-level of confidentiality.

  5. Serve as the primary lead for survey readiness initiatives, ensuring organizational preparedness for internal and external audits, accreditation reviews, and regulatory inspections. Responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date documentation, tracking compliance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective action plans to uphold continuous readiness standards.

  6. Manages and tracks the completion of the 90-day process for Nursing and Ancillary departments.

  7. Accurately process internal and external transfers and audits PeopleSoft data.

  8. Responsible for Licensure tracking for the Medical Center.

  9. Oversees the Return to Work workflow.

  10. Ability to be at work and be on time.

  11. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.

  12. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.

  13. Ability to prioritize and multitask.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Human Resources experience preferred

  • Healthcare experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of Federal and State wage and hour laws

  • PeopleSoft and Taleo experience preferred

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
