Position Summary

The Manager, Financial Planning leads ensures health system budget initiatives, strategies and metrics are appropriately modeled and captured in the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.In addition, this position supports system leaders with budget performance and ad hoc analysis and aims to provide key insights into complex business transactions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • This position has responsibility for development and management of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process for health system, including translation of strategies, initiatives, and financial metrics into detailed departmental budgets.

  • After operating budget is completed, work with stakeholders and management to create and produce appropriate and useful budget variance reports, analyses, and tools to assist departments in meeting budget objectives.

  • Manages ad hoc analysis on a variety of subject matters and ranging in size and complexity, ensuring a comprehensive product and delivery of key insights.

  • Acts as StrataJazz Performance and Planning modules subject matter expert, including maintaining system and ensuring appropriate alignment with other MemorialCare systems (MTM, Peoplesoft FSCM, Epic, etc)

  • Interfaces regularly with other MemorialCare leaders, including effectively communicating sensitive and challenging topics.

  • Presents various budget and financial topics to audiences of varying backgrounds and leadership levels. Communicates in a clear and concise manner and effectively leverages technology.May be in-person or virtual.

  • Is comfortable operating in ambiguity and producing informative conclusions.

  • Effectively contemplates system and workflow interdependencies in all deliverables

  • Daily management of, predominately remote, team members, consisting of intermediate to advanced analysts.Leads with integrity and transparency, provides guidance and regular feedback, cultivates growth opportunities, to foster a highly-engaged culture.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Minimum 4-5 years in comparable role required

  • Healthcare, healthcare finance experience required

  • Experience in developing and maintaining a Hospital's budget

  • Previous experience with creating reports, dashboards, metrics, filters, custom groups, training other users and presenting to work groups

  • Proven organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

  • Advanced Excel, Access and/or database skills

  • Experience with Epic, Strata, and/or Peoplesoft a plus

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required
