Position Summary

The Inpatient Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the day to day operations and compliance of the inpatient Department of Pharmacy. They are responsible for Pharmacy operations including, but not limited to, workflow optimization, budgetary compliance, and operations accountability. In addition, they are responsible for regulatory compliance activities including, but not limited to, cleanroom and hazardous drug procedure compliance and maintenance of the 340B discount drug program. The Inpatient Pharmacy Manager will collaborate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care. They will also collaborate with various Departments of Nursing, Physicians, and Medical Center Administration in various aspects of their duties.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job


Ensure optimal pharmaceutical care services and highest levels of quality to customers

Directs the day to day operations of the inpatient Department of Pharmacy

Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and contractual terms

Educates Inpatient Pharmacy employees and students

Develops clinical and operational performance reports

Demonstrates leadership skills that positively contribute to the Medical Center.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements


Qualifications/Work Experience:


·         Minimum five (5) years of experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting (preferred)


·         Minimum three (3) years of experience as a supervisor or manager in the inpatient pharmacy setting with an understanding of operational workflow, data analysis, business development and regulatory compliance (preferred)


·         Experience in the maintenance and compliance of Pharmacy 340B programs (preferred)


·         Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.) (preferred)


·         Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with patients and health care professionals (required)


·         Proficient understanding of common computer programs used in pharmacy practice (required)


 


Education/Licensure/Certification:


·         Graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy (required)


·         Current California Registered Pharmacist license (required)


·         Completion of a general Pharmacy practice residency (preferred)


·         Completion of a Pharmacy management residency (preferred)
