Position Summary
The Program Specialist works within the Network Management department, to advance overall growth, development and strategic initiatives related to the provider network. The Specialist works independently to provide internal and external consulting and coordination of initiatives with leadership, partners, and project team members. Responsible for driving key strategic initiatives related to network development, provider integration projects, and operational optimization activities.The Specialist is expected to independently manage overall initiative implementation, timelines, key milestones, and resources.Will be responsible for regular project status and post-implementation project reporting. The Specialist will define requirements, gather data, and analyze information for high-level research and reporting to be used for leadership’s provider network strategy analysis as well as for executive level communications. Works with departments to define key processes and coordinates with network management team to implement better processes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Manage the successful delivery of network management efforts, leveraging program management fundamentals including planning, tracking and achieving provider network project milestones as well as risk mitigation
Utilize independent thinking and decision-making in working directly with executive sponsors and team members to define the scope and objectives and planning of key strategic initiatives
Manage all phases of strategic initiatives to ensure achievement of objectives, timelines, key milestones and deliverables, and overall success
Facilitate network management project management, including status reporting and coordination across multiple concurrent activities
Create and maintain network program management and transactional tools and related documents in document repositories, project management applications, and other software applications; provide access and training on assigned applications to workstream team members and other stakeholders
Engage with internal and external parties to collect diligence, operational processes, specifications and other information to support network evaluation and integration efforts
Schedule, plan, lead, and facilitate project meetings
Complete initiatives utilizing research and other resources as it relates to due diligence inquiries
Independently run new and existing reports, analyze key data and share findings with the department, executive leaderships, project teams, and other stakeholders
Work with department leadership to define key processes and workflows, and coordinate with team to design and implement process improvement solutions.
Coordinate, develop and assist with refining network management systems, tools, and processes
Coordinate projects with leadership, internal and external stakeholders to support network management activities
Coordinate defined areas and assist with post acquisitions, JV integration into the provider network
Prepare supporting materials for projects

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
3 years’ experience with coordinating and leading the implementation of key strategic initiatives in healthcare specifically managed care, preferred.
Must have demonstrated mastery of Microsoft products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word as well as program management tools.
Must have excellent organizational skills and a proven background in working on multiple initiatives and with executive leadership teams.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior management, vendors, physician practices, and other outside entities.
Additionally, must meet the following competencies:
Ability to evaluate systems, processes, and workflows to develop plans for change, improvement, and/or integration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to identify gaps and implement solutions
Good analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to recognize problems, issues and trends, obtain and analyze information, raise issues to the appropriate management, apply logical reasoning, recommend solutions and implement when appropriate
Understanding of key business applications and related information technologies
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree required in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Healthcare transaction, implementation, PMI, PMP Certification or a high level of demonstrated program management experience preferred.
