Position Summary:

The Portfolio Director of Transformation is accountable for establishing and overseeing MemorialCare’s enterprise portfolio framework to enable effective digital and AI‑enabled transformation. This function provides oversight across all IS initiatives, partnering closely with the Director, Responsible AI, Solution Architects, clinical, operational, and business stakeholders, as well as external vendors, to ensure effective delivery, transparency, and accountability with a strong focus on digital transformation and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.

At an enterprise level, The Portfolio Director of Transformation leads the prioritization and execution of MemorialCare’s IS portfolios, including strategic transformation programs, AI-enabled initiatives as governed by the Office of Responsible AI, digital health modernization efforts, and operational improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise portfolio roadmap, clearly articulating strategic direction, interdependencies, benefits, risks, and performance metrics, with particular emphasis on enabling data-driven decision-making, clinical innovation, and scalable technology platforms. The Portfolio Director of Transformation enables informed investment decisions, supports capital planning, and drives measurable benefit realization, accelerating IS transformation, innovation, and the strategic adoption of artificial intelligence to advance MemorialCare’s mission of delivering high‑quality, safe, and accessible care to the communities it serves

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Portfolio Director of Transformation partners closely with clinical and operational leaders to drive enterprise‑wide transformation that measurably improves patient outcomes, workforce effectiveness, and financial performance. This role actively leads the modernization of core systems, cloud and platform evolution, and the advancement of data, analytics, and AI‑enabled capabilities. By shaping and prioritizing investments in emerging technologies and advanced analytics, the Portfolio Director ensures solutions are tightly aligned to real clinical and operational needs, accelerate value realization, and enable new models of care and operations. The role champions responsible and ethical use of AI while embedding regulatory compliance, data privacy, and security into every stage of transformation.

In addition, the Portfolio Director of Transformation supports the development in establishing, leading, and continuously evolving MemorialCare’s enterprise framework for the safe, ethical, transparent, and compliant use of artificial intelligence across the health system. This includes continuous improvement in methodologies, demand management, and tools to support large-scale transformation, accelerate innovation velocity, and deliver predictable outcomes.

Through strong partnership with executive leadership, the Director of Responsible AI, clinical and business leaders, compliance and risk teams, and external technology partners, The Portfolio Director of Transformation provides strategic insight to balance innovation, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence. 

This role is pivotal in ensuring MemorialCare’s IS and AI investments deliver sustainable value, improve patient and caregiver experiences, mitigate risk, and support long-term organizational resilience and growth.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

12+ years of progressive experience in enterprise project, program, or portfolio management, with demonstrated responsibility for large‑scale digital and organizational transformation initiatives.

10+ years of senior leadership experience, including leading leaders and cross‑functional teams through complex change, transformation, and organizational maturity efforts

Proven experience leading enterprise transformation, including digital modernization and AI‑enabled initiatives, within healthcare or a similarly complex, highly regulated industry.

Demonstrated experience guiding AI‑enabled transformation, including advanced analytics, intelligent automation, or emerging technologies, with a strong understanding of responsible AI, data governance, and regulatory considerations in healthcare.

Established track record of enterprise portfolio transformation strategy, including prioritization, investment evaluation, and benefit realization across large, multi‑year transformation portfolios.

Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to influence and advise C‑suite leaders and Board‑level stakeholders on transformation strategy, investment decisions, and risk‑based tradeoffs.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate and guide transformation investments, including cost/benefit analysis, ROI assessment, strategic impact evaluation, and readiness for organizational adoption.

Broad knowledge of the healthcare business environment, including hospitals, medical groups, IPAs, health plans, and managed care workflows, with experience navigating clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements.

Proven ability to lead in ambiguity, managing rapid change, competing priorities, and emerging technologies in a fast‑paced enterprise transformation environment.

Demonstrated strength in change leadership, including guiding organizations through digital and AI transformation, influencing adoption, and aligning diverse stakeholder groups.

Strong people leadership and talent development experience, including mentoring and coaching senior project, program, and portfolio leaders to build leadership capability and succession readiness.

Experience working collaboratively across clinical, operational, business, compliance, and technology teams to align transformation initiatives with organizational priorities.

Demonstrated capability in process improvement, systems integration, and re‑engineering, with an understanding of how data, digital platforms, and AI can transform workflows and outcomes

Proficiency with modern collaboration and productivity tools, including Microsoft enterprise platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365), to support communication, reporting, and transformation execution.

Strong analytical, systems thinking, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex transformation concepts into clear, actionable insights.

Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex transformation, AI, and portfolio concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including executives and Boards.

Demonstrated alignment with MemorialCare Leadership Values, serving as a role model for integrity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Proven ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans

Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Suite Products required

Demonstrated analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills

Proven superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; able to interact with individuals across all departments

Education/Licensure/Certification:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; Master’s degree strongly preferred

·          Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

·         PMI Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) certification preferred

·         Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, or equivalent certifications preferred
