Position Summary

The CV Special Procedures Tech is responsible for performing radiography and fluoroscopy during invasive procedures, under the direction of a physician. This position will be responsible for assisting supervision of radiology technologist activities, maintaining imaging equipment quality controls and assisting in ordering supplies. The technologist may assist the physician by scrubbing and monitoring physiologic hemodynamic data, as related to the procedures. The technologist will assist in patient care and preparation of the lab by performing routine and delegated technical and clerical duties.

Demonstrates ability to competently perform interventional technologists’ responsibilities according to department protocols.

Demonstrates ability to competently perform therapeutic Invasive Cardiovascular procedures.

Demonstrates ability to perform pacemaker implantations.

Demonstrates ability to perform peripheral vascular procedures

Demonstrates ability to competently perform emergency therapeutic procedures.

Attends department specific education/training and in-services.

Provide input to improve department operations, equipment and supply needs.

Demonstrates a positive influence and recognize the efforts of others.

Demonstrates ability to competently perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.

Demonstrates the ability to competently perform hemodynamic monitoring.

Demonstrates the ability to utilize effective critical thinking skills. 1

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

        Two years of experience in Invasive Cardiology preferred

        One year of experience in Special Procedures preferred

        Dysrhythmia or EKG class preferred

Education/Licensure/Certification:

        Current Certification Radiology Technologist

        Current Fluoroscopy License

        Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card

        Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card preferred
