Position Summary
The Social Media Specialist II leads the scheduling, production, editing, and execution of social media content for MemorialCare and Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital. Reporting directly to the Digital Marketing Director, this position will support our Social Media Strategy through capturing content, executing campaigns/evergreen content, and ongoing reporting/optimization. The role exists to amplify MemorialCare and Miller Children’s and Women’s brand, foster community engagement, and support organizational goals through effective digital communication.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Schedule, capture, edit, and publish social media content under the direction of the Social Media Strategist and Digital Marketing Director.
Support the Social Media Strategist in campaign execution and influencer collaborations.
Independently plan, capture, edit, and publish photos and short- and long-form video content optimized for social and digital platforms, as well as other internal needs.
Participate in brainstorming sessions for content ideation and platform innovation.
Support the Social Media Strategist in managing the social media content calendar and ensure timely, accurate posting.
Analyze performance metrics to identify insights, trends, and optimization opportunities.
Recommend creative approaches based on platform trends and performance data.
Independently manage community engagement and online reputation for assigned channels, exercising sound judgment within established brand, privacy, and escalation guidelines.
Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Communications, Service Lines) to support cross-functional initiatives.
Act as a liaison between partners and internal teams, facilitating communication and project execution to ensure the success of the partnership.
Travel frequently to healthcare facilities and internal/external events to capture content, some of which may occur outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
In collaboration with the Director and Strategist, support the marketing budget process and help ensure resources are allocated efficiently to maximize ROI across social media activities.
Collaborate with external vendors, agencies, and partners to support marketing efforts.
Execute comprehensive activation strategies designed to achieve organizational goals.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
3 years of social media experience.
Demonstrated experience owning social media channels or campaigns.
Strong understanding of platform trends, algorithms, and best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Basic knowledge of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Emplifi) is preferred.
Experience or coursework in photography, videography and video editing (e.g., iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications, Adobe products, and Canva
Excellent writing, presentation, research, and relationship management skills, with ability to articulate creative and technical concepts.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Strong time management skills
Ability to function as a liaison between partners and internal teams, facilitating clear and effective communication.
Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in using project management tools and software is an advantage.
Proficiency in collecting and documenting performance metrics, both qualitative and quantitative. Ability to analyze data to track the success of activations and optimize future efforts.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with various teams and external partners, including vendors and agencies.
Familiarity with the marketing budget process, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize ROI across all brand activation activities.
Ability to think creatively and innovate in developing marketing strategies and solutions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and experimentation within the team.
Adaptable and able to manage changing priorities and a fast-paced environment. Willingness to take on additional job duties as assigned.
Ability to travel frequently capture content at facilities and events throughout South LA and Orange County.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for content capture.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor's degree required in relevant field (Marketing, Business, etc.)
