Position Summary
The Rad Tech Educator is responsible for performing the technical and clerical duties of a Radiologic Technologist. In addition, this position is accountable for the professional and technical ability to perform procedures within the protocols and guidelines set by the Radiology Diagnostic Department, Federal and State regulations. This position is responsible for overseeing Radiology Technology students ensuring that these students meet the educational institution and Saddleback Medical Center requirements for successful training. The Rad Educator is also accountable for maintaining high standards throughout the department and exhibiting technical expertise to assist other technical personnel and student radiographers within the department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
·Utilizes all electronic systems effectively and appropriately to establish streamlined processes while maintaining patient privacy rights and regulations.
·Actively participates in the completing of clerical duties to support the Radiology Diagnostic department flow of operations.
·Demonstrates a high level of technical knowledge to perform quality imaging for all diagnostic exams and procedures while providing safe patient care.
·Instructs students within the clinical environment, specifically teaching the principles of positioning, technical factors, and radiation safety to promote conducive learning.
·Demonstrates knowledge and understanding in other clinical imaging modalities, to support systemness across the Medical Center.
·Demonstrates proficiency in documentation of patient events in compliance with HIPAA protocols.
·Performs quality imaging practices on patients to promote accurate diagnosis and treatment plans for patients.
·Assures appropriate patient identification is performed and indication and history for exam is documented.
·Ability to be at work and be on time.

·Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
·Ability to prioritize and multitask.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working and assisting Radiologic Students
• Minimum of 3 years’ acute care hospital experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
Education/Licensure/Certification:
• Current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license issued by the State of California required.
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification required.
• Current Fluoroscopy permit required.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Card (BCLS) required.
