Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The Medical Records Tech Specialist position provides coverage in the Health Information Management Department in any area needing assistance, including: assisting physicians, staff and ancillary departments with EPIC related deficiencies and questions; EPIC reports; assembling or analyzing charts; assisting with release of information; scanning and validating; processing discharge day; and filling in at Reception desk. Applies knowledge of logic and databases to assemble, operate and support applications and associated databases including Epic, Onbase and Plato.

2. Provides excellent customer service, answer phones, assists and directs incoming callers and walk-in customers to the HIM department

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Minimum two years office/clerical experience required

• One or more years HIM experience

• Excellent communication skills

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• High School diploma, GED, or Business- Related Course, required
