Purpose Statement / Position Summary
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center.It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values.The employee shall support Saddleback Memorial Medical Center’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to: Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and MemorialCare initiatives.
The Scheduler II coordinate the daily schedules within the Breast Center.This position is responsible for coordinating and communicating activities between patients, technologists, and Radiologists within the Breast Center and managing the overall flow of patient care.In addition, this position is responsible for the accurate maintenance of patient records and data entry associated with the end to end scheduling process of all Breast Center patients.Lastly, this role also assists with uploading patient medical records into the PACS system and updating the patient medical record for distribution to other facilities, patients, physicians, as requested.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
- Facilitates smooth and efficient department operations and daily patient schedules.
- Maintains accurate medical records and maintains confidentiality in accordance with all rules and regulations.
- Utilizes computerized technology to update medical records, with patient results, schedule patient appointments, and address any other requests by requesting Physicians or Technologists.
- Consistently provides patients, family and visitors with information regarding examinations performed or scheduled within the Breast Center.
- Answers phone calls routed through the Breast Center and provides general information to al callers and expedites requests efficiently.
- Ability to be at work and be on time.

- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Experience
- 1 Year experience as a patient scheduler in an outpatient medical office setting preferred
- Knowledge of Breast Center / General Medical terminology preferred
- Proficient in data entry and Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, and Outlook
Education
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
