Shift: Variable (8hr) (Note: This position is primarily for Friday and Saturday shifts. Must be available to work both Fridays and Saturdays. Start times are variable (3:45 AM or 12:00 PM) depending on department coverage needs).

Pay Rate*: $25.00/hr

Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for carrying out staffing policies/procedures and guidelines under the direction of the Operations Manager/Supervising Designee of each unit.This individual is responsible for communication, maintenance of accurate staffing sheets and logs, and data entry functions.Additional responsibilities include coordinating data entry of unit schedules.Other responsibilities include orientation and training of new staff and collaboration with the professional and non-professional employee towards achieving fiscal and quality care goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  1. Maintains accurate records to support all of the Acute Care Services departments within the hospital.

  2. Maintains staffing scheduling to schedule shifts, monitor staffing levels and input data in accordance with our staffing policies and procedures.

  3. Communicates with each department on staffing changes to support the staffing needs of each unit.

  4. Assists with data entry pertaining to staffing scheduling.

  5. Orients new and temporary staff to all staffing procedures and policies

  6. Supports smooth day to day functions of the staffing office to support the department needs.

  7. Ability to be at work and be on time.

  8. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.

  9. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.

  10. Ability to prioritize and multitask.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • 1 Year experience as a Staffing Coordinator in an acute care hospital setting preferred

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Proficient in ANSOS software preferred

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Proficient in medical terminology.
