Position Summary
The position reports to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) with matrixed reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), broader executive team and MemorialCare Shared Services executive colleagues as well. Within that context, directs, controls and is accountable for assigned LBMC Service Lines and programs (Joint ReplacementCenter,SpineProgram, Neurosurgery and [select] Neurology services)withintheMemorialCareOrthopedicandSpineInstitute[MOSI] and MemorialCare Neuroscience Institute (MNI) incollaborationwith their physician and nursing leadership triad partners across the integrated and matrixed service line model. Develops long and short-term business strategies and oversees operational implementation. Manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction. Responsible for leadership of assigned service line strategies, identification and implementation of program / physician / business development initiatives and directing select business and operational functions as determined by COO/CSO.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Providesleadershipincollaborationwithexecutiveteam, physician and nursing triad partnerstoplan, evaluate, develop, and implement patientcareprograms,services, practice models, capital and other resource needs, expected operating revenues and expenses, allocation of space and organization of program personnel and other operational components.
Designs, implements andmonitorsinfrastructure,systems,processesandstandardstoachievedesiredoutcomesin collaboration with medical directors, nursing and other leadership, department chairs and medical staff.
Providesfiscalandbusinessplanningthatpromotesrevenueenhancementsandcostefficiency.Develops, implements and monitors operating and capital budgets.
Develops strategic and long-range plans, within the context and framework of the overarching MHS / LBMC strategicplans and in collaboration with system service line leaders,fortheeffectiveimplementationandoperationofspecificpatientcareprograms and capabilities andassociated activities.
Facilitatestheeffortstowardsachievingpayer/employer/industrydesignationsandinitiativessuchascenterof excellence, center of distinction, bundled payment models, etc.
Directsrecruitment,trainingandevaluationofpersonnelincollaborationwithhospital.
Providesleadershipincollaborationwithphysician and nursing triad partnerstosupport
continuousimprovementefforts. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships.
Supportsclinicalprocessesthatassurepatientsafety.
Proactivelyevaluates,recommendsandsecurestechnologiesthatadvanceInstituteandprogrampatientcare/ outcomes, efficiency and consumer centricity.
Supportsregulatorycomplianceforallareasofresponsibility.Monitors,communicates,andworkstoimprove patient, physician and staff satisfaction.
Inalignmentwithestablishedstrategicinitiativescreateseffectiveoutreachprograms, in partnership with business development, marketing, contracting and operations,tomeettheneedsof patients in primary,secondary and tertiary market areas.
Implementsphysicianalignmentstrategiesincluding evaluation and adoption of new alignment models. Participates and collaborates with physician recruitment initiatives.
Responsibleforspecialprojectsasassignedrelatedto service line / program / center space planning and physicianadministrative space.
Responsibleformaintainingandgrowingtheprofitabilityoftheservicelinearea(s).
Positions reporting to this role include the Joint Replacement and Spine Program Coordinator(s) as well as PhysicianAssistants(PAs)exclusivelyembeddedwithintheMOSI and NSI (MNI) programs / centers.Clinicaloversightfortheseroleswillfall under their respective Spine or Ortho/Joint Replacement Medical Director with dotted line / matrix reporting to the VP of Perioperative Services.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant progressive management experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful working relationships at all levels of the organization.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- Master’s degree required or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the incumbent with the requisite knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform the job.
