Position Summary

The Marketing Manager promotes departmental business interests by developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic sales and marketing plan that improves community awareness and facilitates increased business opportunities. The Marketing Manager will collaborate with departmental leadership to identify specific marketing needs and goals. He/she may be responsible for preliminary research including market share analyses, demographic surveys, and sales plans. The Marketing Manager will have a clear understanding of the trends in business growth within the department and community at large. He/she will be able to utilize a wide array of communication strategies to meet the department's goals, including preparation of promotional materials, organizing community outreach events, direct marketing, and others as appropriate.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

·Collaborates with departmental leadership to identify areas of potential business growth and improvement. Aims to increase revenue by increasing account referrals. Identifies new areas of business expansion and innovation in an effort to increase patient base.

·Responsible for organizing community outreach events to local and regional businesses, physicians, and the population at large to increase awareness. May plan educational events as a community service and coordinate hospital-affiliated speakers and presentations. May plan direct external marketing in an effort to engage community physicians and businesses that may positively impact departmental business.

·Responsible for creating and utilizing promotional and educational materials to increase community awareness. Works closely with departmental leadership to ensure that these documents effectively promote departmental services and facilitate goals related to increasing revenue. Authors and edits all templates before a production run.

·Develops and executes a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy to advance the financial interests of the department. Carefully tailors the strategy to the unique needs of the department by closely consulting with departmental leadership. Suggests effective marketing strategies that align with the needs of leadership.

·Serves as a liaison between the hospital and outside organizations, including physicians, community programs, and businesses. Always seeks to initiate meaningful strategic connections between related groups.

·Gives regular updates regarding the progress of marketing strategies. Seeks feedback and input regarding efficiency, and is open to suggestions for improvements to all aspects of the comprehensive communication strategy.

·Works within an agreed-upon marketing budget and effectively managed expenses. Seeks creative solutions to maximize allocated funds. Accounts for all marketing costs and provides detailed financial audits whenever requested.

·Actively participates in hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives. At all times considers how departmental communications strategies may promote the quality vision of the hospital and enhance its reputation within the community.

·Performs other duties as assigned.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

 

·        Must have 3+ years prior work experience in sales, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Prior experience in healthcare, sales and marketing is preferred.

·        Prior experience in community outreach and fundraising is preferred.

·        Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills combined with an engaging, energetic attitude.

·        Excellent computer skills in a MS Windows environment including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required. Knowledge of electronic medical records functionality is preferred.

 

Education/Licensure/Certification:

 

·        Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is required.

·        Master's degree is desirable.
