Position Summary

MemorialCare Medical Group is currently seeking a qualified Cardiothoracic Surgeon. MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center is one of the largest free-standing hospitals on the west coast, has an academic affiliation with the University of California Irvine, and a dedication to clinical excellence, cutting-edge research, and a robust clinical trial program.  Over 500 students, house officers and fellows are learning every day at Long Beach Medical Center and the integrated Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach. Long Beach Medical Center has 60-year history of cardiac program innovations including pioneering discoveries in diagnostic testing, pacing and electrophysiology, and a 15-year history of innovations in aortic, robotic-assisted, atrial fibrillation and other minimally invasive procedures. The hospital is a Magnet® designated teaching hospital with three CV operating rooms, one hybrid room, and five cath labs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

The ideal candidate will have a strong adult cardiac surgery background, particularly in endovascular cardiac surgery, mechanical circulatory support, and/or transcatheter mitral valve procedures.

Practice Details

  • Seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon
  • Dedicated heart team, Cardiac anesthesiologists, TEE certified anesthesiologists
  • Transcatheter experience is preferred
  • Employed position with a strong cardiology program and a network of over 200 primary care providers
  • Large potential cardiology referral base
  • Award-winning heart program with full support of the cardiologists and administration

Qualifications:

  • American Board of Surgery certification (or board eligible)
  • American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification (or board eligible)
  • Aortic surgery experience is a plus
  • Must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of California
  • DEA registration
