Position Summary
Reporting to the Neurosciences/Stroke Program Director, the Program Coordinator, Stroke is an integral member of our Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Program team. This position is responsible for assessing and maintaining the quality of care for our stroke patient population.The coordinator is expected to be an immediate source of clinical expertise and advanced clinical decision-making to support, teach, and assist hospital staff on a planned basis and also in emergent situations. Partnering with physicians and leadership / staff from each unit, ensures that our stroke guidelines are maintained for high quality care. In conjunction with the patient throughput department, the Program Coordinator will have dotted line clinical oversight and reporting over the stroke nurses. The transfer process for stroke patients will also fall within the scope of responsibilities of the program coordinator for oversight, issue resolution, and escalation as necessary. The incumbent will also perform concurrent data collection, stroke database management, and performance improvement initiatives based on the data results and stroke care team recommendations. The Coordinator will comply with hospital and departmental policies and procedure.
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
• Five years clinical experience required in neuroscience/stroke
• Critical care experience preferred
• Leadership experience preferred
Education/Licensure/Certification:
• Current California RN license
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support card
• Current American Heart Association Adult Cardiac Life Support card
• Professional certification preferred
