Position Summary:
Coordinate all patient care functions utilizing the five (5) Simply Better steps with every patient and team
member interaction for surgical services that include: scheduling office visits, procedure(s) at external/internal locations and obtaining needed information/documentation for patient to meet the requirements for surgical services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job:
1. Must have the ability, skill-set, qualifications, education, and licensure (if applicable) for all the responsibilities required for position.
2. Must excel in communication (written & verbal), customer service and can work independently or as part of a team.
3. Must excel in prioritization, organization and multi-tasking while demonstrating attention to detail and follow though.
4. Can problem solve to logical conclusion, demonstrate initiative and is responsible.
5. Coordinate authorizations for patient referrals and treatment.
6. Coordinate schedules for procedural & surgical procedures with clinic, surgical centers, hospitals and patients.
7. Inform patient(s) about care they will receive and schedule appropriate visit within needed time frame and requirements.
8. Be at work and be on time
9. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating policy & procedures/standard work
10. Interact in a positive and constructive manner.
11. Prioritize and multitask
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Experience
· Minimum one (1) year experience in medical field (Medical Assistant, Customer Service
Representative, Front Office Assistant, or other) in ambulatory care preferred.
· Prior medical office experience preferred.
· Must have a minimum of 1 year of customer service in any field and have worked with computers.
Education
· High School graduate or equivalent required.
· Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
· Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider required
