Position Summary

MemorialCare Medical Foundation (MCMF) supports a large and growing ambulatory network serving patients throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Technology plays a critical role in supporting physician practices, specialty clinics, urgent care centers, ambulatory services, and patient access operations by providing the applications, infrastructure, devices, data, and reporting capabilities necessary to deliver high-quality patient care and operational excellence.

The IT Director is a critical leadership role responsible for coordinating and overseeing Information Services activities supporting MCMF clinical and operational environments. This Director understands and aligns with the priorities established by executive leadership and works collaboratively with clinic operations, physician leadership, and Information Services teams to maintain operational excellence while developing and implementing technology initiatives through strategic planning, resource management, and staff leadership.

There are multiple facets to ambulatory IT operations, including technical support (network, telecommunications, desktop and endpoint services), application support for a diverse portfolio of clinical and business applications, and Epic Ambulatory support for physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, clinic personnel, and operational leadership. This Director maintains a comprehensive understanding of the evolving ambulatory technology landscape and is responsible for ensuring supported applications, systems, and connected devices operate reliably, are appropriately maintained and upgraded, and continue to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding ambulatory enterprise.

Working in partnership with Shared Services, Enterprise Applications, and Infrastructure teams, the Director ensures technology standards, support services, cybersecurity requirements, and operational processes are consistently applied across MCMF locations while balancing local operational needs and physician practice requirements. The Director serves as a key liaison between Information Services and ambulatory operational leadership to drive technology adoption, physician satisfaction, patient access improvements, workflow optimization, and organizational growth initiatives.

The Director effectively manages all MCMF technology initiatives, including strategic programs, clinic expansions, new practice acquisitions, relocations, remodels, physician onboarding activities, and operational improvement efforts. The Director maintains visibility into all in-flight, planned, and completed initiatives to ensure strategic objectives are achieved and progress is communicated through governance and leadership forums.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job:

Information Services supporting MCMF and ambulatory operations will work in alignment with Shared Services and execute strategy developed by Information Services leadership and the MemorialCare Health System CIO.
