Position Summary

The Central Staffing Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the scheduling of nursing staff, supplementary staff and patient placement for the overall effective operation of patient care services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

·Performs and documents accurate daily scheduling of nursing staff to assure optimum patient care delivery, based on available resources.

·Places patients throughout the medical center, following guidelines, for optimum patient care, based on available resources.

·Maintains a variety of staff records, accurately and privately, to assure efficient Central Staffing Office operation as well as meeting regulatory requirements.

·Ensures daily nurse staffing and scheduling are in accordance with Department of Nursing Guidelines.

·Ensures patient placement is in accordance with patient placement guidelines.

·To increase performance improvement and create a cooperative team environment the staffing coordinator creates and supports a ‘no gossip’ work environment. All issues and complaints go up to the supervisor and not to coworkers who can’t do anything about the issue.

·Actively uses AIDET at the first encounter with each patient each day.

·Performs additional duties as outlined in the "Competencies for Data Scheduling Coordinator" list.

·Performs other duties as assigned.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications/Work Experience

·        Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including Word, Excel and Power Point.

·        6+ months recent full-time experience in a central nursing staffing office, perferred.

·        Demonstrated skills in MTM and Active Staffer, preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification

Medical Terminology, preferred.
