Base Salary Range*:  $145,000 to $175,000 

*The salary range above is an estimated annual base salary for a full-time position. Your Total Rewards would include a base salary plus performance-based incentives and other valuable benefits. Our compensation models utilize fair market value data specific to your specialty.  

Position Summary

MemorialCare Medical Group is looking to add an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to its thriving practice in Orange, CA. The PA or NP will be a full-time employee of MemorialCare Medical Group and primarily work in an outpatient setting. They may support Newport Beach and Laguna Hills clinics as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Provide history and physical as appropriate for each patient.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist the physician in diagnosing, treating and managing patients
  • Provide high quality patient care that is guided by protocols and standardized procedures. 
  • Maintain legible, accurate and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals and consultation.
  • Order and schedule laboratory studies, imaging studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
  • Formulate a treatment plan.
  • Uses evidence-based practice guidelines and assessment tools.
  • Prescribe medication and treatments and monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Complete documentation and patient billing in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Facilitate patient and family education.
  • Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
  • Provide symptom management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Outcomes

  • Autonomously and in collaboration with health care professionals and other individuals, the Breast Oncology NP/PA specialty health care services, including: Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays.

  • Provide high quality patient care that is guided by protocols and standardized procedures.

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills

Qualifications/Skills

  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience

  • Previous work experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in an oncology setting required.

  • Prior experience in breast oncology is preferred.

  • Prior experience with Epic EMR is a plus

Education/Licensure/Certification

  • Current California Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing licensure or California Physician Assistant license

  • Must have completed an accredited physician assistant program or a master’s degree in nursing

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Board Certification

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) credentials, or another National Certification in a related specialty is a plus.

  • DEA Certificate and NPI number

  • Current BLS certifications
