The position’s primary focus is with employees, patients, families, physicians and the key contributors from other departments who impact the services of the assigned unit(s). The success of the assigned unit(s) depends significantly on the incumbent’s ab ility to participate well with others and/or collaborate with other managers within the Division of Nursing and the Medical Center.
Position Summary
The position is a first line management position. The incumbent has 24-hour responsibility for the coordination of care for patients and families of the assigned unit(s). The incumbent shall plan, organize, direct and evaluate people and activities for the assigned unit(s) to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The incumbent has fiscal responsibility for resources that are defined during the budget process. The position is accountable for scheduling, coordinating, and maintaining the resources necessary on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Clinical Operations Manager reports to the Clinical Operations Director, Executive Director or Vice President. The Clinical Operations Manager is accountable for planning, developing new services, policy formation, human resource management and organization, financial performance, patient care services operations, and medical management staff relations within his/her area of responsibility. In addition, the Manager of the assigned area is responsible to provide leadership to redesign the health care delivery structure to position the organization to be a leader in an integrated delivery network
·Lead and develop staff - Retain valued staff; enhance succession planning; maintain a motivated team and work environment; and promote employee satisfaction in order to maintain a stable and productive staff. Feedback from healthcare team. Personal observation of communication and general leadership behaviors. Observation of project and task management. Fair, consistent and timely human resources management.
·Manage financial and organizational value, add to the general fiscal and organizational health of the hospital while maintaining department goals, Avatar and approved department patient satisfaction surveys. Budget content, timeliness, and proactive monitoring. Employee satisfaction with assignments. Employees’ perception that they are managed in a fair and caring manner.
·Maintain and improve clinical quality, deliver excellent patient care to ensure positive clinical outcomes and attract and retain customer loyalty. Patient satisfaction surveys. Healthcare team satisfaction and feedback. Patient outcome data. Meeting agreed-upon standards. Annual skill validation per unit standard.
·Manage and enhance interpersonal and organizational communication, Maintain and promote professional communication behaviors; create an efficiency of purpose; promote internal partnering and collaboration to ensure a productive and satisfying work environment. Feedback from other departments. Healthcare team feedback. Personal observation. An informed staff.
·Manage and improve systems and processes, Control costs; manage resources; increase efficiency to ensure effective business and organizational development. Budget and budget tracking documents. Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. · Current California RN license
· BSN required, MSN preferred.
· 3 years+ of active OR nursing practice in acute setting
· Prior nursing leadership experience preferred
· Demonstrated leadership skills
· Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills
· Ability to adapt to emergency situations
